Grieving Bergen Mom's Message To Trump: 'Please Do Something'

A grief-stricken mother from Bergen County remembering her teenage daughter killed in Wednesday's Parkland, Florida shooting held nothing back from the media, using it as an opportunity to reach President Trump.

Lori Alhadeff said although her 14-year-old daughter, Alyssa Alhadeff, was dead, there were other children living in fear at school -- and those were the ones she was going to continue fighting for.

Her powerful message to the president in an interview with CNN was so powerful that it left a newscaster tearful and speechless.

"President Trump, what can you do?" Lori Alhadeff asked the president in the interview. "You can stop the guns from getting into these children's hands. You can put metal detectors at every entrance to the schools.

"What can you do? You can do a lot."

Alhadeff went on to say how she'd spent the last two hours arranging her daughter's burial.

She begged him:

"President Trump, please do something. Action. We need it now. These kids need safety now."

Alyssa was a Stoneman Douglas High School student and a skilled soccer player. She lived in Woodcliff Lake in Bergen from 2010 to 2014, before her family moved to Florida.
